Before the release of pro evolution 2010 Konami stated that they were going to improve the graphics of the player’s faces by putting in more detail to make it look more realistic. Konami has claimed that they have improved the movement so the players don’t move as stiff as the last PES (PES 09). Konami also promised us fans that they were going to add 360 movement on the players.
They added in master league a youth system which means at the starting you get rubbish youth but when you get to the end of the season you get new youth that might be good or if you are unlucky you get bad youth.
When I heard those improvements both me and my bro was excited because we thought this would help Konami step up and make it harder for FIFA. We felt like this PES was going to be the best so far.
It took a few months but finally I got my hands on the game. I played it on the computer and the first mode that I was played was master league. Master league was interesting because it had improved a lot; there were even small additions such as the currency (pounds and Euros). The introduction of a scout was also another nice small addition because it helped me search for players that I wanted. The biggest addition was the youth team, at the end of every season there was new youth added to your youth team which was good especially if you were lucky enough to receive great young talented youth players, but that was not always the case it was also very possible to get youth with rubbish stats. Even though it would take hard work it was possible in the future to make them good by giving them the right cards and training. I really liked it a lot because your youth system could make your team a very solid unit and be a reason why you win cups. PES had added champion league and Europa league on master league and a season felt more realistic, it actually seemed like my team was playing in the tournaments. So overall PES did a great job on improving master league.
When I played a match in master league the movement was still a bit stiff and personally I felt that yes they had improved the movement, but Konami it wasn’t 360 movement like you promised. 360 movement would have been nice, smooth and swift. No human being turns 90 degrees like a robot if anyone says they turn like that they must be someone from another planet.
PES 10 had got the graphics exceptionally good, they have made it even better than before by adding shadows on players faces to give it more realism.
I enjoyed PES 10 more than PES 09 because master league had really improved and the player movements were better, the AI of the players in PES 10 was much smarter than PES 09. The graphics also were far better than PES 09.
The problems about pro evolution 2010 that I didn’t enjoy was that I found playing on console a little frustrating because the responding was bad. For example they didn’t pass as quickly as I wanted them to or the defenders would make stupid mistakes without me telling them to or your own player would block a pass or a shot. We didn’t have that much freedom.
The improvements I want to see in PES 2011 is for them to really implement 360 movement and to allow us gamers to have more freedom with regards to how our team plays. The players AI’s should also be better and for response times of player actions to be made sharper in accordance to gamer instructions. A great addition to BAL mode would be to be able to play more positions in become a legend.
Here is a detailed video showing PES 2010 game play it features a quarter of a full match.. Enjoy!
